During pregnancy the lumbar spine changes by 18% by 22 weeks and 41% by 32 weeks. Finding new connections and strengthening fascial connections is extremely important for back pain during pregnancy. 50-70% of pregnant suffer from back pain during their pregnancy, ELDOA can help you not become part of that statistic and create a better transition for you post-partum.

What is ELDOA?


ELDOA (Étirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation Ostéo Articulaire), or Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretching, is an innovative technique developed by the renowned osteopath Dr. Guy VOYER.

ELDOAs are unique postural techniques aimed at creating space within a specific joint. This is achieved by creating fascial tension to stabilize the vertebra below and contraction in extreme range to normalize the vertebra above the targeted disc.

For example, doing just one minute a day you can alleviate disc compression specifically at the junction of L5-S1. ELDOA postures are highly specific compared to other techniques, allowing for targeted relief of disc compression at any level of the spine.

There are also various ELDOA postures designed for the sacroiliac joints, hips, shoulders, ribs, and even the skull.

Lower back pain is a challenging and often disabling issue that many individuals face daily. ELDOA can effectively reduce and, over time, alleviate acute and chronic back pain. Regular practice of ELDOA exercises can also help mitigate many of the risk factors associated with intervertebral disc degeneration and herniation.

What is Myofasical Stretching?

Myofascial stretching, as developed by Guy Voyer, is a technique that aims to stretch and release tension in the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, and organs. This method focuses on stretching the fascia in specific directions and angles to target areas of tension or restriction. The goal is to improve flexibility, reduce pain, and enhance overall movement quality. Myofascial stretching is often used in conjunction with ELDOA, to improve musculoskeletal health.

When you incorporate Myofascial stretches, with ELDOA you are correcting structural imbalances and release tension across the joints which helps to reduce inflammation and pain.
